About Pam and Paula:

Pam Adams lives as a professional flutist in Fort Worth, Texas where she raised her three children with her musician husband, Robert, of 33 years.  As a young teen, Pam discovered music as her passion.  She has expressed her talents in many venues, including educator, soloist performer, and as assistant principal flute and piccolo in the esteemed Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.  With dedication and sacrifice, she completed a Master of Music degree from her undergraduate alma mater, University of North Texas.  Her three children each have also incorporated music in their collegiate studies.

Family circumstances and personal interest led her to become an advocate for learning disability diagnostics and literacy, interests that are a natural extension of Pam's desire for every person to be granted the opportunity to fulfill their God-given potential.  She has used her own God-given talents in music and education in both Christian and secular settings to mentor and develop many young people.
Pam has enjoyed many summers at Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conferences, participating as a performer and coordinating music, and is pleased to share some of her life story as a speaker.  Her story reflects a lifetime of leaning on faith and God's Word through the inevitable ups and downs of life.

Paula Rieker likes to say she is the "little" sister of Pam Adams, the two being separated by only ten short months.  She is a native Texan residing in the Texas Hill Country with her husband of almost 20 years, Jim.  She graduated with a BBA with highest honors from Texas A&M University in 1975, entering TAMU the first year women lived on the campus.  Professionally, she held positions in finance, treasury, banking and investor relations in the oil and gas business.

At the age of 27, she experienced a life changing event.  Paralyzed, she was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer and, following aggressive surgery, radiation and long-term chemotherapy at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, she became their longest-surviving patient with spinal Ewing's Sarcoma.  Her career later took a dramatic turn as she was the Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors of Enron Corp. at the time of its bankruptcy and subsequent investigations.

Paula's testimony is one of personal challenges faced with faith and laced with God’s grace.  She admits she has much to learn and that she spent a lot of time "making a living" and is now "making a life".  She hopes her story can help others develop a deeper relationship with God in whatever stage of life they may be.
